At the University of Crete, by Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ) 2973/Β/27-5-2024, an administrative structure was established under the title “Digital Governance Unit” as an independent and autonomous Unit at the Directorate level, reporting directly to the Rector and supervised by them.

The mission of the Digital Governance Unit is to manage the digital governance of the University of Crete, utilize Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), simplify processes, and coordinate the implementation of digital transformation actions that cover all the University’s activities. It aims to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the administrative, academic, and research units of the University of Crete, in accordance with the principles, framework, and guidelines of the Digital Transformation Book provided in Article 5 of Law 4727/2020 (Government Gazette A’ 184).
